Australian Office – Internships

Our Brisbane office provides internship opportunities to construction students of Bond University. This is facilitated and arranged by Bond University and only available to its students. Please DO NOT contact Costplan Group directly regarding these internships.

Two of our previous interns, Rachel and Lucio, provide their insight on the experience.

CPG: Out of all the projects you worked on, which one was your favourite and why?
R & L: A stadium project in the Solomon Islands, as it was our first practical measurement on a real project. There were various trades which allowed us to become more familiar with some measurements that we have not practiced during our studies. It was also great to work on a football stadium when I love football!
CPG: What challenges did you face?
R & L: In the beginning we were shy to ask questions and faced some language challenges. However, we were soon able to ask questions without hesitation and everyone was helpful and patient, we really appreciated the time people took to explain things.
CPG: What did you learn the most about?
R & L: We learnt so much, ranging from hard skills such as measuring quantities for cost plans or BOQs, interpreting drawings and using CostX, to soft skills such as communication and working in a team. The most valuable thing we both learnt about is how important it is to work as a team.
CPG: Overall how would you describe your internship experience?
R & L: It has been invaluable, challenging, motivating and very worthwhile! Every aspect has been an important experience. We are very grateful to have this opportunity to work alongside such a friendly and professional team during our internship.
